let’s lie together naked on the couch

legs intertwined & read our books together

let’s read Lady Chatterly’s Lover

& i'll wait for your foot to find the center of me

let’s read Franny & Zooey silently together

our prayer against the disappointment of parting

let’s read anything by Kurt Vonnegut

and feel our shakes of laughter legs against legs

& when we can no longer be silent & still

let’s curl against each other spooning

& watch a movie we have seen before apart

but not yet together
